Dissertation: Silence and Alterity in Russia after Stalin, 1955-1975
After earning a Ph.D. from Slavic with a Designated Emphasis in Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Anastasia Kayiatos became a Provost’s Postdoctoral Scholar in the Humanities at the University of Southern California. In 2013-17 she taught at Macalester College as Visiting Assistant Professor in Russian Studies. Selections from her interdisciplinary dissertation have been published in Theatre Survey (in English), the Journal of Social Policy Studies (in Russian), and Astrolabio (in Spanish). Her article on the archivally-quiet, queer-deaf Soviet pantomime, Enchanted Island, is included in the enchantment issue of Women’s Studies Quarterly.
