After receiving her Ph.D., Melissa Frazier took up a position at Sarah Lawrence College; in 2017, she began a five-year term as Associate Dean of the College. She reworked her dissertation into a book, Frames of the Imagination Gogol’s Arabesques and the Romantic Question of Genre (2000), and she was awarded the 2007 Jean-Pierre Barricelli Prize for “Best Work in Romanticism Studies” for her second book, Romantic Encounters: Writers, Readers, and the “Library for Reading” (2007).
